BIOGRAPHY
Bill was a ruckman. Recruited from Brighton Juniors he only spent two years at Richmond and showed himself to be a player of great promise before he enlisted in the A.I.F. Strongly built, but very fair, he use his weight cleverly and was a great protector of his smaller teammates. As if he had a premonition, he sadly farewelled his team mates after the last game of 1915. A tram driver, he then joined the A.I.F. where he attained the rank of Sergeant before being killed whilst on active service in France in 1917 in The Battle of Fromelles.
