BIOGRAPHY
Brian played in defence usually at full-back. A rugged, close-checking defender, he was recruited from Gippsland via Hawthorn’s Under/19 team. He captained the Hawthorn Thirds in 1987, prior to crossing to Richmond. He worked hard on improving his fitness during his career and as a result was given regular tagging roles. He was a good kick, a fine team man and very popular around the club. De-listed by Richmond at the end of 1994, he completed pre-season training with North Melbourne but was not drafted. He then became a fly-in player with AFL aspirant Port Adelaide. He had a fine season representing South Australia against Tasmania and playing in Port Adelaide’s Premiership team. In 1996 he returned to Port Adelaide. Away from football, he is involved in running a hotel in North Melbourne.
