BIOGRAPHY
Bruce was a talented utility who played football in four states including senior football in three. He was recruited by Richmond after winning the 1969 and 1970 "McLeod Medal" as Best and Fairest in the Sunraysia League while playing with Wentworth. He played as a wingman, centreman and ruck-rover. He was an opportunist who read the play well and was very creative. In 1971, his debut year with Richmond he was hampered by injury. He then spent four very successful years with Latrobe in Tasmania where he also represented the state twice. He rejoined Richmond in 1976 but was unable to reproduce the form he showed in 1971.
Bruce moved to Western Australia in 1977 and played with East Fremantle before crossing to Perth. He now plays in the Super Rules competition. Bruce was a West Australian Super Rules Representative in 1987, 1988 and 1990. In 1987 he was selected in the All-Australian side. During his career he played in excess of 500 games. He now works as a car salesman in Fremantle.
