2019 VFL Premiership player

Coleman-Jones gained his senior selection after Ivan Soldo served a 1 match suspension, and Toby Nankervis was sidelined with an adductor injury.

Callum Coleman-Jones was drafted by Richmond with pick 20 Overall in 2017 NAB AFL National Draft. Callum came from South Australia with a successful U/18 playing record as Captain of South Australia in 2017 National Championships and selection in the 2017 All Australian Team . Callum played in the Richmond VFL team in 2018 and early 2019 as a ruck/forward and impressed with his high marking and general ruck work . As a result of injury to senior ruckman Toby Nankervis and
suspension to back-up ruckman Ivan Soldo , Callum was selected to play his first game with the senior team in Round 10, 2019 against Essendon in the Dreamtime at the “G” blockbuster match , in which he acquitted himself very well. With the return of the first preference ruckmen he returned to play in the Tigers VFL team . The Dreamtime game was to be Callum’s only senior game in 2019 . Callum achieved some consolation by being an important member of the Tigers 2019 Premiership team.
Callum like many other players in 2020 & 2021 was impacted by the Covid19 pandemic which restricted opportunities for development and match play. Richmond was located on the Gold Coast in an AFL Hub and Callum along with teammate Sydney Stack breached AFL Covid19 player security protocols each being suspended for 10 weeks which finished their 2020 season and carried over 4 weeks into the 2021 season .
Callum played 8 senior games during 2021 but found it difficult to establish himself as a regular with the Tigers senior team.
At the end of 2021 Callum requested a trade to North Melbourne citing lack of opportunity at Richmond . During the 2021 Trade period Callum was traded to North Melbourne in exchange for
veteran backman Robbie Tarrant on October 8, 2021.
