BIOGRAPHY
Chris plays on the ball and as a tagger. A Tasmanian, he joined Richmond in 1993 after spending three seasons with Carlton. He was promoted to the seniors after several impressive performances in the Reserves, and made an immediate impression in his first game against North Melbourne picking up 24 possessions and hasn’t looked back since. He is a courageous hard-working player who reads the game well. During 1994 he developed into one of the best taggers in the League, as well as winning many possessions in the process. His fine season was rewarded when he won the Club Best and Fairest award. On several occasions during 1995, he was on the receiving end of heavy knocks, however, he continued on in his unusual courageous manner. A fine team man he has good ball skills. He is a strong mark for his size, delivers the ball well by hand or foot and possesses fine evasive skills. In 1995 and 1996, his good form earned him selection in the Allies team for the games against Victoria and Western Australia. He was a member of Richmond’s 1995 Finals sides and once again proved himself at the highest level by playing very consistent football.
