BIOGRAPHY
Richard was a wingman whose career spanned over three decades and nearly 400 games. He joined Richmond from Albury and won the Best First Year Player award. Of his 102 senior games with Richmond , 94 were played consecutively. He was a member of Richmond’s only night Premiership side , in 1962 and 1963 he finished second in the Best and Fairest award. He also represented Victoria twice, before moving to Tasmanian club North Hobart. He represented Tasmania four times before returning to Victoria to coach Wodonga. He was a very consistent player who played in a total of 18 representative matches during his career. His son, Richard Junior, played with the Richmond Thirds and Seconds in 1984 and 1985 and he was a member of the Under/19’s 1985 Premiership side. Richard Senior is currently living in Wodonga.
