BIOGRAPHY

His highest individual goal tally was 5 against Hawthorn in Round 5 of 1965.
At the start of 1970 he applied for a clearance to Dandenong.
He was a member of the Reserves’ 1971 Premiership side. He spent two seasons with Dandenong in between stints with Richmond and later returned to Dandenong before taking over as Richmond’s Under/19 coach in 1975.
His VFL Under/19 side made the Grand Final in each of his three years as coach, winning in 1975 and 1977 and losing narrowly to the Ray JORDON coached North Melbourne side in 1976.
Don served as a specialist coach at Richmond in 1980 and 1981.
He was also a fine batsman with Sub District Cricket Club Camberwell, where he captained their 1982-83 senior Premiership side.
