BIOGRAPHY
Nicknamed 'Racehorse', Geoff was one of the fastest players of his era. He won the Grand Final day players sprint in 1979, 1980 and 1981 and 1985 (as well as finishing second in 1984).
Geoff played his early football with Drouin before joining Hawthorn in 1973.
He spent ten seasons with Hawthorn as well as representing Victoria once.
Geoff played on the wing in Hawthorn's 1976 and 1978 day and 1977 night Premiership sides as well as their  1975 Grand Final side.

He was an attacking player who had the ability to run the ball around the wing and then put his team into attack with a long kick. He played in 17 finals whilst at Hawthorn and was voted that club's best player in the 1974 Preliminary final against North Melbourne and the 1976 Semi-Final against Carlton. He was also amongst their best players in the 1976 Preiership win over North Melbourne. He was awarded life membership of the Hawthorn Football Club in 1982.
After leaving Hawthorn he spent two seasons with Richmond and one at St Kilda before returning to Gippsland. He is the brother of Kevin and Gary Ablett, nephewof Len Ablett and brother-in-law of Michael Tuck.
