BIOGRAPHY
Lance was a talented rover who played over 400 games of football. He spent two seasons with Richmond and was a member of the Reserves’ 1954 and 1955 Premiership sides. He then moved to South Adelaide before returning to Tasmania, where he played in numerous representative matches as well as representing the state three times. He won the A.B.C Player of the Year in 1959 as well as Devonport’s Best and Fairest in 1965. He has also been involved in the local football media, and the coaching of juniors in Tasmania. Two of his sons played with Devonport, in the Tasmanian Statewide Football Competition. Lance was the Devonport Football Club skills coach during their Premiership year of 1988.
