BIOGRAPHY

One of the tallest player for Richmond (202cms), McBean was recruited from Aberfeldie (VIC) and Calder Cannons (TAC Cup) with Pick 33 in the 2012 National Draft. He had an immediate impact for Richmond's Reserve side kicking 37 goals from 14 games and would continue to be that club's main scoring option.

His high marking and long set shot kicking could at times captivate the Tiger Army, so much so that many fans were puzzled as to why he had not yet won a place in the senior team.

After two full seasons at VFL level he made his AFL debut against Collingwood in Round 6 of the 2015 season. Despite showing glimpses of promise, McBean could not recreate the incredible goal kicking feats of his time in the Reserves. He added four more games and kicked one goal at senior level before being de-listed at the end of the 2016 season.

McBean won Richmond's Reserves goal kicking in three consecutive years - the first such occurrence since Norm Dickson 1935-1937. In 2017, McBean continued his state football career by moving to South Australia to play with Glenelg in the SANFL.
