BIOGRAPHY
Neil was a centre-half-forward and ruckman. Originally from Broken Hill, he came to Richmond via South Australian club Glenelg. He ran second in the 1953 “Margarey Medal” count and was a member of the All-Australian side the same year. He represented South Australia on 20 occasions. He was a classy player who had plenty of pace; however, he was troubled by ankle injuries during his one season with Richmond. Neil’s two senior games were in Rounds 1 and 2 of 1955 against Essendon and Fitzroy. He later spent a year in England playing rugby as well as representing The Northern Territory in the same sport. Whilst in the Northern Territory he was playing coach of St. Mary’s and led them to a Premiership in 1955/56. He also won the Darwin Show Gift professional foot race. Neil now lives in Queensland.
