BIOGRAPHY
Noel played as a rover and forward-pocket. Recruited from Ulverstone, he was a fine kick with either foot and had a good turn of speed. He was a creative player who read the play well and was dangerous around the goals. In 1973, he was a member of the Seniors’ Premiership side as well as running second in the Reserves’ Best and Fairest award. He left Richmond in 1978 due to a lack of senior opportunities and moved to South Fremantle, where he captained that club between 1979 and 1982, including their 1980 Premiership side, and was later awarded Life Membership. He also captained Western Australia and ran second in the 1980 “Sandover Medal”. In 1988, he served as chairman of selectors at South Fremantle and in 1990 he was a West Australian State selector. He still lives in Perth, and now works for a commercial blood and livestock company.
