BIOGRAPHY
Phillip was a strongly built player, who for his size got up very high for a mark. He was one of several Aboriginal footballers who played with Richmond during the 1980s. He played in several different positions which included wing and half-forward. During the 1988 season, he kicked 7 goals in consecutive weeks at full-forward against Melbourne and North Melbourne respectively. He was always prepared to put his body in for the hard ball and he had a superb physique to handle the rough and tumble of VFL football. His kicking for goal was sometimes astray, which detracted from his game at times. He played briefly with Melbourne in 1991, before retiring from the AFL and moving to the Mildura area. He now works as a projects officer with the Aboriginal Community and plays football for Robinvale.
