BIOGRAPHY
Ray was a rover and forward-pocket. He joined Richmond from Castlemaine, yet he never trained in the city as he lived in Castlemaine throughout his league career. On a Saturday, he would catch the train from Castlemaine to play in Melbourne and after the game he would return home. After leaving Richmond, he spent two years with Essendon and one with Port Melbourne, before returning to Castlemaine. Ray was a draughtsman.
