BIOGRAPHY
Ray was a centre-half-forward, centre-half-back and ruckman. He was a strong mark and long kick. During his time at Richmond he played in three consecutive Reserve grade Grand Final sides for one win and two losses. All his senior games were as a reserve. After three seasons with Richmond he returned to his junior club Langwarrin, where he spent the 1969 and 1970 seasons before being recruited by Dandenong. He won their Best and Fairest and was a member of their 1971 Premiership side. During his VFA career he was one of the outstanding players in the competition and finished third in the 1978 "J.FIELD" Trophy for Best and Fairest in the VFA's Second Division. Ray is a qualified toolmaker and now lives in Mulgrave.
