BIOGRAPHY
Ron was a competitive half-back-flanker and ruck-rover. He came to Richmond from Mitcham, however he found it difficult to gain regular senior selection due to the likes of Burgin, Owen and Strang holding down the half-back positions. He was a member of the senior team that played Fitzroy in front of the Royal family in Round one of 1970. He spent three seasons with Richmond before crossing to Melbourne where he played with their Reserves in 1971. IN 1972 he played with Prahran before returning to Mitcham. In the Eastern Districts Football League he ranks as one of the all-time greats, having won two "Chandler Medals" as the Competition's Best and Fairest. He also played in Queensland as well as coaching the Sydney Swans Reserves in 1982. He served on the Sydney Swans Match Committee between 1982 and 1988 before returning in 1992. Ron also worked at Richmond as a Development Officer. Since 1993 he has coached Sydney League side Western Suburbs.
