Rory Hilton played junior football with Wodonga and moved to Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup. Rory was initially drafted by
Brisbane with pick 3 in the 1996 AFL National Draft . Rory debuted for Brisbane in Round 6, 1998 against Richmond and played 9 games that year before requesting a trade back to Victoria. Rory was traded to Richmond at the end of the 1998 season in exchange for Richmond’s pick 24 in the 1998 AFL Draft.
Rory a strong half forward or wing played his first senior game with Richmond in Round 1, 1999 against Melbourne. He played a total of 82 senior games over 7 years but was hampered by a continued run of injuries , although he was a regular player in the senior team in 2000 ( 16 games ) and 2001 ( 22 games ) . In 2001 he played in the Tigers Finals campaign which resulted in a Preliminary Final loss to Brisbane. Rory was delisted by Richmond at the end of 2005, only 26 years of age.

Murray Bushrangers U/18 1996 ; Brisbane Lions 1997-98, Games 9, Goals 3 . Joined Richmond as traded player from Brisbane Lions for Richmond draft pick 24 which eventually was passed to Geelong as a trade for Martin McKinnon. Pick 24 was used by Geelong to pick David Wojinski in 1998 National Draft.
