BIOGRAPHY
Stan was a wingman and half-forward. He originally started his career with Leopold before joining South Melbourne in 1915, spending three seasons with them before crossing to Richmond in 1923. He spent just one season with Richmond before retiring. Stan was also a fine cricketer who played Senior XI District Cricket with Hawthorn East Melbourne between 1921 and 1924. Batting 22 times he scored 396 runs with a highest score of 96. A specialist wicket-keeper he effected 33 dismissals, 14 catches and 19 stumpings, earning him state selection once he scored a century on debut, 105, against Tasmania. He also took one catch and effected two stumpings. Stan then played with South Melbourne between 1925 and 1933 batting 114 times and scoring 2489 runs with one century, 111, and five fifties. He also effected 119 dismissals consisting of 60 catches and 59 stumpings. Away from his sporting career he was a company director.
