BIOGRAPHY
Stephen made his debut in Round 12 of 1995coming off the interchange. Most of his senior games have been as a key forward. He was originally recruited from South Fremantle. In 1992 and 1993, he represented Western Australia in the Teal Cup and went on to earn All-Australian selection in 1993. He spent 1994 with Richmond Reserves and played in the senior team against Carlton in London. He proved a valuable asset after the loss of Matthew Richardson from the forward line. He kicked 5 goals against Essendon in Round 15 and 4 against Carlton’s champion full-back Stephen Silvagni in Round 14 and Collingwood in Round 21. He was a member of Richmond’s Finals’ side against North Melbourne ; however injury ruled him out of the other two Finals matches. He is a strong mark and hard to move in a pack. His kicking needs some work but he did show he has a fine football brain . After only thirteen games he showed enough form to suggest that he has a bright future. His 1996 season was interrupted due to constant injury problems. Away from football Stephen is completing a Science Degree.
