BIOGRAPHY
Stuart was drafted by Richmond after stints with Footscray, Sydney and the Adelaide Crows. He represented the Victorian “B” side whilst at Footscray, and was also a member of the Adelaide Crows’ Finals teams in 1993, playing mainly as a forward. Since joining Richmond, he has played at centre-half-back, playing brilliant football in the early part of 1995. An attacking, aggressive player who uses his strength constructively, he performed well against North Melbourne champion Wayne Carey, in Round 4. Stuart often backed his judgement running off opponents and carrying the ball downfield with several bounces and a long kick. Playing against the Sydney Swans in Sydney, he had been performing very well until late in the last quarter when he broke his ankle in a pack of players and was forced to miss the majority of the season. Sydney proved to be his jinx, as he suffered a broken leg in 1992 while playing with that club. He returned to the seniors for the Finals but was unable to regain his early season form.
Stuart's brother, Brad, is currently opening the bowling for South Australian Sheffield Shield side.
