BIOGRAPHY
Edward played as a forward-pocket and in the ruck. A strong mark and long kick he won the club Goalkicking award in 1912 and his highest individual tally was 5 against Collingwood in 1914.
He was a crew member on HMAS Melbourne - the first Australian cruiser commissioned in 1913.
It looks liked his football was to be shelved due to being on HMAS Melbourne however arrangements were made to enable him to play for Tigers this year. He was stationed at the Williamstown Depot that year.
He later served in the Navy during the First World War and attained the rank of Petty Officer. After the war he moved to Sydney to live.
